Peter M. Torncello is Of Counsel in the Albany, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. He has over 20 years of litigation experience, and has been with Jackson Lewis since June 2013.
Mr. Torncello served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Albany County District Attorney's Office for 12 years. As Bureau Chief for that office's Special Assault Unit, he was responsible for prosecuting all matters involving sexual assault, domestic violence and crimes against children. He was later appointed to the position of Albany County Public Defender where he directed the office that defended over 12,000 criminal cases per year. Mr. Torncello also served as a Chief Attorney for the New York State Appellate Division's Third Judicial Department's Committee on Professional Standards.
