Pedro Romano Fragoso Pires is a Foreign Legal Consultant who advises U.S. and foreign companies doing business in LatAm, as well as Brazilian companies doing business in the United States regarding issues that involve Brazilian law. As a Foreign Legal Consultant, Pedro is not admitted to practice law in Florida. With more than 25 years of legal experience at major Brazilian and U.S. law firms, Pedro coordinates and supervises legal work throughout Latin America, serving as leading counsel on corporate and international matters. For more than 20 years, he represented oil companies (operators and service providers) and air carriers on numerous issues, including employment and litigation.
Pedro has lived and worked in Brazil and the United States and previously served as chairman of the Energy Committee of an Iberoamerican alliance formed by several law firms. Pedro has also visited China on issues arising out of Chinese investments in Brazil. He is a member of the firm’s Transactions Practice within the Business Law Group.
Prior to joining Foley & Lardner, Pedro served as a Foreign Legal Consultant in the Miami office of a prominent global firm, where he assisted a number of Brazilian clients navigate the US system and US companies doing business in LatAm. Before returning to Miami where he lived and worked from 1999 to 2001, he was a Partner of a Brazil-based law firm he founded and ran for 10 years.
