Attorney Paul Michaud Chairs the Firm’s Renewable Energy Practice Group. He has significant expertise with the transactional, regulatory and legislative aspects of renewable energy, community solar and microgrid project development. He represents a diverse client-base of regional and national renewable energy companies, municipalities, lenders, and commercial and industrial power users whose projects include solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, wind farms, biofuel systems, small hydro systems, fuel cells and combined heat and power (CHP) systems, geothermal systems, and microgrids in Connecticut, Massachusetts and across New England.
Paul regularly advises clients on all aspects of renewable energy and microgrid project transactions from developing request for proposals and reviewing project proposals to drafting and negotiating complex power purchase agreements, net metering credit agreements, performance guarantee agreements, site leases, interconnection agreements, finance agreements, construction agreements, real estate access easement agreements, and operation and maintenance agreements.
