Michelle is an attorney in the Litigation Department. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation in federal and state courts, especially on claims and investigations brought pursuant to the False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Act. Michelle has experience in all aspects of litigation, from preparing early pleadings, to managing large-scale discovery and depositions, to preparing experts, to trial and post-trial motions practice. She has contributed to several successful settlement negotiations favorable to her clients. Michelle’s experience in the criminal context includes white collar matters, mental health issues, and juvenile defense.
Michelle has represented clients in high-profile False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Act matters, sealed government investigations, antitrust actions, and litigation over contract interpretation. She has served as counsel to one of the world’s largest system integrators, a contractor with the Army Corps of Engineers, a truck transmissions manufacturer, and a significant software development company. Michelle also served as second chair in the most recent conditional release hearing for would-be presidential assassin John Hinckley.
