Michelle Diago drives the strategy and growth at IMS, and during her over two decades in the legal services industry, she has left a trail of success stories in her wake. Her career started when she joined The Focal Point in 1998, and over the years, she helped the company go on to become the nation’s premier trial consulting firm. When it became clear that clients would benefit from provision of consulting services alongside expert witness services, Michelle helped orchestrate IMS’s acquisition of The Focal Point so that the two entities became IMS Consulting & Expert Services, a company uniquely positioned to provide attorneys in Am Law 200 law firms with an outstanding array of services to benefit them from the beginning to the end of trial. Today, IMS is the nation’s leading provider of integrated strategy, expert witness, jury consulting, trial graphics, and trial presentation services.
Michelle keeps her eye on legal industry trends to ensure that IMS is ever ready to respond to clients’ dynamic needs. Previously, when she was not busy growing IMS and its team, Michelle was deployed on the company’s largest and most significant cases to help support clients’ needs, keep the cases on budget, and ensure a successful experience for clients and team members alike. Michelle’s overarching goal is and always has been to help clients win trials.
Within IMS, Michelle is an impactful leader with a unique ability to strike the right balance of people and process, resulting in a highly collaborative, high-performance culture. She is adept at connecting with all levels of the organization to bridge contrasting ideas, simplify the complex, and mitigate conflict in service of innovative client solutions and operational efficiencies. Michelle holds a BS in managerial economics from the University of California at Davis. Born in Caracas, Venezuela, she is fluent in Spanish. Her time away from the office is spent hiking, reading, volunteering, cooking, and taking her two rambunctious boys on adventures.
