Lajos Wallacher’s practice focuses on competition and trade laws of the European Union (EU) involving merger control, cartels, abuse of dominance cases and unfair competition rules. With a concentration on consumer protection law, Lajos is experienced in unfair commercial practices, advertising law, EU law (internal market rules, EU courts’ procedure, judicial cooperation in civil matters and private international law). He is also experienced in drafting legislative acts.
Prior to joining Squire Patton Boggs, he was the vice president of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), where he was responsible for investigations, enforcement policy and general legal matters. Lajos also worked in the EU law department for the Ministry of Justice and Law.
