Katila Howard

Professional Biography

Katila Howard is a third-year law student at Michigan State University College of Law from Detroit, Michigan. Prior to law school, she worked as a Teach for America elementary school teacher in Detroit, Michigan. During her first summer of law school, she clerked for a business litigation firm and was a judicial extern for the United States District Court of the Eastern District of Michigan. Simultaneously, she worked as a research assistant on Michigan State University College of Law’s project commemorating the anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education and the Civil Rights Movement while also interning for the Michigan House of Representatives. During Katila's second summer in law school, she worked as a summer associate for Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith P.C., where she will return after graduation. This school year, she externed with the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit during my first semester and is currently externing for the Michigan Tax Tribunal. She is also the Executive Editor for the Journal of Business and Securities Law.
