Kara Kraman focuses her practice on the resolution of state and local tax controversies at the audit, administrative, and judicial levels in New York State and City and throughout the United States.
She has experience litigating and advising on issues relating to bank taxes, corporate income taxes, insurance taxes, sales and use taxes, fraud, personal income taxes, real estate transfer taxes, and utility taxes. She also regularly works with clients to identify tax planning opportunities and to resolve controversies before they result in litigation.
Kara has published articles on state and local tax topics in Forbes, State Tax Notes, and Tax Law360. She is also a contributing author of the treatise Tax Planning for Corporations and Shareholders, published by LexisNexis.
