Professional Biography

Josh Goldberg focuses his practice on representing franchisors and franchisees in domestic and international transactions, including professional athletes and also represents athletes, Name, Image and Likeness (“NIL”) collectives, creators and brands in the media and technology sectors in all types of commercial transactions. Josh enjoys working with ambitious individuals and companies with visions to create a better future.

Josh has assisted numerous franchise clients in the structuring of franchise programs, preparation of franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements and development agreements and registering and renewing such franchise offerings across all required states. He also has experience assisting franchisee operators review and negotiate franchise agreements. His experience focuses on a diverse industry group including the following industries:

Josh also regularly advises founders on intellectual property and branding matters. He has managed extensive trademark portfolios for large franchisor companies to start-ups looking to protect their intellectual property and enhance their growth.

In the NIL space, Josh works with collectives, athletes, brands, institutions and other stakeholders looking to navigate the constantly changing NIL landscape. In 2023, Josh became one of the youngest adjunct law professors in the country when he developed a Sports Law and NIL course centered around NIL, the NCAA and the sports influencer and media economy at Florida International University’s College of Law.

Recently recognized as a LinkedIn Top Voice, Josh shares insights on the sports, franchising and consumer-packaged goods industries and the intersection of athlete and creator-led business ventures.

Before joining Polsinelli, Josh began his legal career at an AMLaw 200 firm, where he launched the firm’s Sports Law and NIL blog.
