Jonathan Maude is a Partner at Vedder Price and a member of the Labor and Employment group in the firm’s London office.
Mr. Maude is an experienced and well-respected practitioner working in labor and employment law. He regularly advises across the full spectrum of employment law-related issues in the contentious and noncontentious spheres with a particular emphasis on advising corporate clients on complex strategic human resource-related matters.
Jonathan Maude's practice can be broadly broken down into the two areas of the domestic U.K. market and the international market.
Mr. Maude's U.K. work involves advising on most aspects of U.K. employment law being contractual, statutory and regulatory in nature. Mr. Maude has a particular emphasis on confidentiality/restraint matters, business reorganisations and transfer issues, together with complex terminations of employment. On the contentious side, he has also run cases in most fora in the U.K. judicial system including the Employment Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal.
His international work includes advising corporate clients on the UK regulatory regime and the effects this can have upon strategic decisions concerning investment into the UK and Europe. There is a particular emphasis on the setup and continued management of subsidiary undertakings for parent companies based outside of the UK, together with the coordination of employment work across jurisdictions for global corporate clients. Mr. Maude also advises clients on global mobility issues.
Mr. Maude regularly advises on data protection and privacy matters faced by corporate clients within the UK and the EU in the employment law context as well as on a broader commercial level. He has advised on the legal principles concerning the collection, storage and transfer of personal data through the UK, EU and to the United States. Mr. Maude has a proven track record advising corporate clients on employment law investigations. He has advised on UK and international investigations involving among other things, bribery and international data breach.
