Organization Profile
Professional Biography

Jamie L. Levitt is an associate in the New York City, New York, office of Jackson Lewis P.C. Working with employers facing traditional labor issues and employment litigation, Jamie collaborates to tackle issues head on; helping to develop creative solutions to often conflicting labor and employment law and policy. She has experience in collective bargaining negotiations, labor arbitration, and union drives and elections. She also defends employers facing discrimination and retaliation claims arising under federal, New York state, and city laws, including Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the ADA.

Jamie discovered her passion for employment early, focusing her undergraduate studies at the Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations on the impact of technological development on the workplace. She continues to dedicate time at Jackson Lewis to this topic, most recently authoring a white paper on the benefits and risks of artificial intelligence for the 75th Annual NYU Conference on Labor & Employment Law: Reform for the Long Haul. She is particularly excited to see how the law attempts to catch up with technological change.

Jamie also devoted her law school education to labor-management studies. She spent over a year as an employment law clinic teaching assistant amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, advising New Yorkers about unprecedented return-to-work and unemployment insurance issues. Jamie was recognized for this work in 2021 by the New York State Bar Association with the President’s Pro Bono Service Award. She also interned with the Honorable Pamela K. Chen, Article III Judge for the Eastern District of New York and served as the executive articles editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law.

Jamie enjoys attending the ballet and spending time with her two sisters and family dog, Howie.
