Jim McKeown is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He is the former chair of the firm’s national Antitrust Practice and is a member of the Litigation Department and the Sports and Automotive Industry Teams. Mr. McKeown’s litigation practice includes antitrust litigation (including class action defense), distribution disputes, and general litigation. An experienced trial lawyer, he has represented clients in a number of high profile antitrust and sports cases, and he has defended several lawsuits in which the plaintiffs sought significantly in excess of $1 billion in damages. He also regularly represents clients in matters before the federal antitrust enforcement agencies, including representation on Hart-Scott-Rodino matters.
In working with clients, Mr. McKeown seeks to understand their business and strategic objectives in order to provide antitrust advice that best addresses the individual client’s needs. He counsels clients on a wide variety of antitrust issues, including those arising from mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, joint purchasing arrangements, intellectual property licensing, product distribution and e-commerce. His experience has included work with clients in manufacturing, health care, sports, automotive, computer, printing, agriculture, graduate medical education, food, insurance and other industries.
