Dr. Martin Königs

Professional Biography

Dr. Martin Königs advises clients on intellectual property law matters with particular emphasis on patent litigation, including the enforcement of patents essential to industry standards and FRAND defenses. His practice includes advising on trade secret matters, drafting IP licensing agreements and advising on employee’s inventions.

After his studies at the University of Bonn and the first state exam, Martin worked as a research assistant at the Chair for Civil Law, Intellectual Property Law and Competition Law. Meanwhile he went on to receive a doctorate with a thesis on patent pools. He also completed several papers, for instance on the revised technology transfer block exemption regulation (TTBER) and the accompanying guidelines.

During his legal clerkship and internships Martin worked inter alia for the European Commission’s DG Competition, local and state offices, and for international law firms in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Moscow.
