Catherine I. R. Pontoriero is an associate in the Labor and Employment Department. Catherine represents and counsels management in a broad spectrum of employment litigation matters before federal and state courts and administrative agencies, such as FINRA. The matters she handles include discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, retaliation, breach of employment contracts and whistleblower actions. In addition, Catherine represents clients in raiding cases, which involve a mass exodus or raid of a company's employees, agents and clients. She also represents and counsels management in traditional labor law matters, including labor arbitrations and proceedings before the NLRB.
Catherine joined Proskauer after serving as a labor and employment associate at a large regional law firm. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel A. Pisano of the United States District Court, District of New Jersey (2012-2013) and the Honorable Clarkson S. Fisher Jr. of the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division (2010-2011). Catherine utilizes her clerkship experiences to assist clients with federal and appellate procedural issues.
During law school, Catherine was the managing editor of the Seton Hall Circuit Review. She also participated in the Immigrant Workers’ Rights Clinic, where she successfully obtained political asylum for her client.
