Benjamin D. Schwartz is an associate in Norris McLaughlin’s New York office and a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property and Litigation Groups. Ben concentrates his practice on a variety of matters relating to civil litigation and intellectual property, and is a registered patent attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Ben has experience enforcing intellectual property and contract rights, prosecuting trademark and copyright applications, participating in Trademark Trial and Appeal Board proceedings, and counseling clients on their protection and utilization of trademarks, patents, copyrights, and associated exclusive rights. He also has experience drafting license agreements with third-party users of famous trademarks to avoid genericide and loss of rights.
Prior to joining Norris McLaughlin, Ben worked as an associate for an intellectual property law firm in Silicon Valley, where he assisted with pre-trial procedure, and conducted legal research.
Ben graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law with honors in intellectual property, and received his B.S. in biology from Lehigh University. While attending law school, Ben served as president of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association and as a senior production editor of the High Technology Law Journal.
