Alyssa’s practice focuses on commercial and construction litigation and land use permitting and litigation. She guides clients through all stages of the litigation process, from counseling them on pre-litigation issues to researching and drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, taking and defending depositions, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, and through trial. In the construction law and land use side of her practice, she advises clients on pre-litigation claims related to public and private construction projects, including delay claims on public works projects, and handles all aspects of zoning matters and administrative hearings. Alyssa represents public and private companies in a variety of industries, including construction, real estate, and manufacturing.
Prior to joining Mintz, Alyssa was a litigation associate at a California law firm, where she worked on a broad range of litigation and land use matters. Earlier, she served as a litigation associate, law clerk, and summer associate in the San Francisco-office of a Georgia-based construction law and litigation firm.
While attending law school, Alyssa served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Tani Gorre Cantil-Sakauye, Chief Justice of the California Supreme Court and as a law clerk for an attorney and later a firm in San Francisco. In law school, she was a staff member and a senior staff member of the University of San Francisco Law Review. She was also a finalist in the school’s Advocate of the Year Competition and on the national championship team of New York Law School’s Robert F. Wagner Sr. Labor and Employment Law Moot Court Competition.
Before attending law school, Alyssa worked as an interim risk manager and benefits manager at a construction company in California.
