The U.S. Senate confirmed U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Alejandro Mayorkas to be the Deputy Secretary of Homeland Security by a straight partisan vote of 54-41.  President Obama also announced the nomination of  Leon Rodriguez to fill his post.  Mr. Rodriquez is currently with the Department of Health and Human Services as the head of the Office of Civil Rights.  He was previously Chief of Staff and Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Justice Department.
