Leandra English, CFPB Deputy Director, to resign and drop lawsuit against Acting Director Mulvaney and President Trump
Friday, July 6, 2018

Leandra English, who was appointed as Deputy Director of the CFPB by former Director Richard Cordray before he resigned in November of last year, announced today that she will resign as Deputy Director at the end of next week. She also announced that she will dismiss her lawsuit against President Trump and Acting Director Mulvaney which is now pending before the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. The District Court had previously held that Mr. Mulvaney is the lawful Acting Director. It appears that her resignation was prompted by President Trump’s recent nomination of Kathy Kraninger to be the Director.
