How to Get Your Law Firm Website Up to Speed [INFOGRAPHIC]
Wednesday, March 29, 2017

Google loves speed. The faster a web page loads, the greater the user satisfaction. In fact, Google measures page speed load in microseconds and believes it is especially important on mobile devices when consumers are searching “in the moment” and will not tolerate slow loading times.

You see, research has shown that most consumers expect a web page to load in no more than two seconds. If it takes longer than that, they are on to the next thing and they typically will never return to your law firm website. Even just a one-second delay can result in a 7% reduction in conversions. So page speed is crucial when you have just that one chance to make an impression with your law firm website.

The infographic below from DigitalNext provides some tips and tools you (or your webmaster) can use to increase your law firm website page speed, including:

Optimize your images. Size your images properly BEFORE you upload them to the site and keep the number of images on a page to a minimum.

Optimize CSS code and delivery. Fewer lines of code improve processing times, which ups your page speed.

Minimize the use of plugins. While plugins can deliver some snazzy functionality to your website, they also cut down your speed.

Compress content. Most web browsers today support content compression capabilities, so compress your content to increase your speed.

Use managed hosting. Don’t host your website yourself; using a managed hosting solution not only means a faster loading site, it also keeps all your data more secure.
