On April 11, 2023, the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration released the Statewide Medicaid Managed Care (SMMC) Invitation to Negotiate (ITN). The solicitation aims to procure contracts to provide Managed Medical Assistance and Long-term Care services under the SMMC program. The Agency indicates its intent to award:
…Contracts to nationally accredited managed care plans that incentivize value and quality; offer an enhanced service delivery system and integration of behavioral and physical health services; ensure the availability of comprehensive, quality-driven provider networks; streamline processes that enhance the enrollee and provider experience; provide expanded benefits target to improve outcomes for enrollees; have top quality scores and high rated of enrollee satisfaction; are able to deliver an efficient, high-quality, innovative, cost-effective, integrated health care delivery model; and that provide pathways towards self-sufficiency, purpose, and independence.
This procurement will lead to the third contract period for the SMMC program, which was implemented in 2014 and now serves more than 4.4 million Floridians.
Respondents can submit proposals to serve one of or all nine regions through one of five types of plans.
