FALL OUT: DMS Declares BK and Its List of 30 Largest Creditors Suggests Major Fallout for Lead Gen Industry
Thursday, September 12, 2024

As I reported earlier today DMS just entered Chapter 11.

A bunch of folks have already asked me if they are going out of business. I have no inside knowledge on this. All I can say is their press release suggests otherwise.

Regardless, when a giant in any industry topples there are bound to be repercussions, and matters are no different with the DMS BK.

Below are screenshots from their petitions listing DMS’ largest unsecured creditors. It is a window into the operations of DMS and the wide footprint it has within the industry. It also suggests that numerous companies in lead gen may be left with unpaid invoices (at least for a while.)

Most painful to my eye are the $1.5MM in unpaid legal expense appearing on this petition owed to three law firms (not to Troutman Amin, LLP–DMS was NOT a client.) Ouch.

I know many in industry are still licking their wounds from the HiQ BK from 2022, so this may cause more hardship. Then again, maybe DMS emerges from BK having paid most of their debt and we all move forward. Not sure.

But for the curious, here are DMS’ biggest creditors:
