FCC Chairman Ajit Pai just announced that he will step down effective January 20, 2021 – Inauguration Day. Chairman Pai’s current term as a commissioner was set to expire in June 2021. President-elect Biden, by law, will be able to nominate an additional Democrat to the Commission, so that there will be a 3-2 Democratic majority, with one serving as Chair.
