NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 14, 2025 / McLaren Health Care recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health data of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to McLaren Health Care.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

On August 5, 2024, McLaren Health Care became aware of unauthorized access to its McLaren/Karmanos computer systems. Upon discovery, McLaren activated its emergency response processes and engaged third-party forensic specialists to secure the network and investigate the scope of the suspicious activity. The investigation revealed that there was unauthorized access to the McLaren Health Care network containing sensitive personal and protected health information between July 17, 2024, and August 3, 2024.

These files allegedly included name, Social Security number, driver's license number, medical information, and health insurance information.

On June 20, 2025, McLaren filed a public disclosure and began sending written notice letters to affected individuals. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their personal information was compromised.
