
McDermott+ Announces Josh Jorgensen as Director

April 14, 2025 – McDermott+, a national healthcare lobbying and policy consulting firm, welcomes Josh Jorgensen as director.
“Josh brings a wealth of strategic insight that will be invaluable to our clients as they navigate the healthcare industry,” said Eric Zimmerman, managing principal of M+. “His background in Medicare Advantage and rural healthcare will further enhance our capabilities, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team.”
Before joining McDermott+, Josh served as lead lobbyist at the Alliance of Community Health Plans, advocating on issues pertaining to Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, the individual market, and prescription drug policy. Josh also served as lead lobbyist for the National Rural Health Association, guiding rural providers through COVID-era legislative activity. During this time, Josh worked with congressional leaders to secure millions of dollars dedicated to ensuring stability for the rural health safety net.
Josh began his health policy work on Capitol Hill as an aide to Senator Mike Rounds (R-SD), managing his health portfolio where he led the effort to repeal the 40 percent excise tax on high-cost employer sponsored health coverage (Cadillac Tax) in 2019.

Josh holds a BS in journalism and political science from the University of South Dakota.
