NEW YORK, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 14, 2025 / Cierant Corporation ("Cierant") disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health data of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to Cierant.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

On December 10, 2024, Cierant became aware of suspicious activity on its Cleo VLTrader file transfer system. Cierant launched an investigation with the assistance of a third-party cybersecurity team. The investigation determined that an unauthorized actor exploited a vulnerability in the Cleo VLTrader to gain limited access to Cierant systems and may have acquired certain files containing personal and protected health information.

These impacted files allegedly included sensitive personal information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, health plan beneficiary numbers, medical record numbers, plan member account numbers, premium information, provider names, treatment-related dates, claims numbers, and generic descriptions of services received.

Cierant reported the incident to federal law enforcement and began sending notice letters to impacted individuals on July 3, 2025. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
