NEW YORK CITY, NY / ACCESS Newswire / July 14, 2025 / Avantic Medical Lab disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal and protected health data of individuals. This data breach has led to concerns over the security of sensitive personal and protected health information entrusted to Avantic Medical Lab.

WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?

On July 3, 2025, a ransomware group, Everest, leaked approximately 31 GB of Avantic Medical Lab's patient files on the dark web. The leaked files appear to include patient data relating to blood draws, insurance responses, and other correspondence. Avantic Medical Lab, a full-service clinical laboratory based in Edison, New Jersey, services hospitals and patients throughout New Jersey and New York.

These impacted files allegedly included sensitive personal and private health information, including patients' full names, addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, medical records, health insurance information, diagnostic test results, and payment information.

At this time, Avantic Medical Lab has not yet issued an official notice to patients regarding the data breach. Compensation may be available for those individuals who receive notice that their sensitive personal information was compromised.
