Whistleblowing and Retaliation – Lunch and Learn (with CLE Credit): Boston

Conference, Hosted By By Amy L. McEvoy

Date: Wed, May 21, 2025- 11:00 AM

Join Epstein Becker Green and ACC Northeast for lunch and a discussion about whistleblower and retaliation claims.

This continuing legal education (CLE) session aims to cover a variety of topics, including:

  • the reasons for and trends surrounding the continued surge in whistleblower and retaliation claims,
  • protected activity,
  • an expanded concept of “adverse action,”
  • negating the inference of “causation,”
  • third-party retaliation,
  • retaliatory harassment,
  • unreasonable opposition, and
  • recently stepped-up regulatory enforcement by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice.

The session will also feature a discussion of whistleblower claims—including expanded rights and remedies of the would-be whistleblower—and best practices to help avoid or minimize liability in today’s business world.

By the end of this session, attendees will gain a comprehensive understanding of the increase in retaliation and whistleblower claims, including key legal concepts and recent regulatory trends.
