Sahil Kanuga co-heads the International Dispute Resolution & Investigations Practice at research and strategy driven international law firm, Nishith Desai Associates.
Known for his analytical and meticulous approach aimed to reach his clients' goal, Sahil has worked on an array of complex matters including Indian and international arbitrations. He aggressively tackles the challenges presented by each case - legal, financial, or otherwise and has advised on corporate and commercial laws, civil and constitutional matters and criminal offences. He has also negotiated private equity and joint venture transactions. A focused problem-solver, Sahil understands that business goals shape legal strategies.
He also advises multi-national clients across jurisdictions on investigations involving issues such as internal fraud, anti-corruption, anti-bribery and data privacy. He has conducted a number of investigations including internal investigations as well as joint investigations with international law firms and forensic teams, having potential ramifications under the FCPA and UKBA.
Sahil is part of the Asia Advisory Committee of American Arbitration Association-International Center for Dispute Resolution. He is also a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa, an office bearer with the Indian Arbitration Forum and has been appointed as an India Specialist Mediator by the Singapore International Mediation Center. He is also on the Mediate India Advisory Board. Sahil has been recognized as Future Leader – Who’s Who Legal Guide: Arbitration 2021 while Legal 500 commends Sahil for his enviable track record of representing clients investigating improper conduct, whistleblowing and other company law breaches, in addition to his strength in civil and constitutional law. Sahil regularly speaks at domestic and international conferences and has conducted training sessions for in-house legal teams. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the ADR Cell, Government Law College of Mumbai.”
