Professional Biography

Hilary supports clients in the rapidly changing environmental justice and renewable energy landscapes.

Hilary’s drive to positively impact the environment runs deep — while in high school, she took home 95-gallon trash bags filled with her peers’ empty plastic bottles and cans for months until her school established its own recycling program. She approaches her legal career with the same dedication and proactive mentality, where she is passionate about helping clients effectively and efficiently comply with environmental law and regulations.

Hilary advises clients on how to integrate environmental justice considerations into every aspect of their operations as issues arise and on a more systemic basis. She serves as the Deputy of the Environmental Justice practice group, and regularly writes and presents on state and federal environmental justice issues.

Hilary’s robust regulatory practice also includes helping clients address issues arising under the Clean Water Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and federal, state, and local laws related to the development, operation, and support of renewable energy projects, including solar, offshore wind, and alternative energy sources. She routinely advises renewable energy developer clients on permitting, transactional, and litigation challenges.
