President Trump has renominated Federal Communications Commissioner Michael O’Rielly for another five-year term at the agency. One of the three Republican Commissioners, Commissioner O’Rielly’s current term expired last June, but under the Communications Act he can remain on the Commission until the current Congress ends at the end of this year. His new term would run from July 1, 2019, through June 30, 2024.

Commissioner O’Rielly is expected to have strong Republican support in the U.S. Senate, which will consider his renomination.
