Michigan Launches First Medicaid Mobile Application
Tuesday, February 24, 2015

The Michigan Department of Community Health (MDCH) recently released the nation’s first Medicaid mobile health application, called myHealthButton, and an online portal, myHealthPortal, that allows patients to access their medical information and available health resources remotely and in real-time.  The applications are available to current members enrolled with the Michigan Medicaid program, the Children’s Special Healthcare Services program and/or the MiChild program.  The new technology will allow members to access digital images of their benefit cards, locate Medicaid providers, and review authorized diagnoses and provider listings for Children’s Special Health Care services beneficiaries.

The new applications were developed jointly by MDCH and CNSI, an information technology company. Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management and Budget will support the applications, which include software to maintain the security and confidentiality of protected health information.

The applications are both currently available for Apple and Android mobile devices through the App Store and Google Play, respectively.  Before accessing these applications on their mobile device, users must create an account by visiting https://milogin.michigan.gov/.
