Governor Snyder signed Public Act 257 of 2016 into law on June 27, 2016. PA 257 repeals the entire Michigan Livestock and Poultry Remedies Act (PA 134 of 1929) which regulates the sale of livestock and poultry remedies and takes effect on September 26, 2016.
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will no longer administer an animal remedies program after September 26, 2016. An animal remedy license will not be required in Michigan after this date.
