Today, General Electric, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission ("CPSC") announced a voluntary recall of GE, GE Adora, GE Eterna, GE Profile and HotPoint  dishwashers due to fire hazard.  GE identified an electrical failure in the dishwasher's heating element that could pose a fire hazard.  The company advised that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwashers, disconnect the electric supply and be aware of the risk of fire.
