Denning Sons Farms in Jonesville has added a 19.2 kw solar array to its operations.  The array is expected to supply about ten percent of the farm's annual electric demand, and qualifies for net metering treatment under Michigan statute. The project cost about $90,000, and was partially financed through a low-interest loan from the Michigan Economic Development Corp, a grant through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and a grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury (Section 1603) . The payback is estimated at approximately six to eight years, and the project is expected to last at least 25 years.
