Nov. 2, 2012—MapLight Voter's Edge California (Spanish Version), a nonpartisan guide to ballot measures, profiles the funding behind the 11 California ballot propositions. A MapLight analysis of campaign finance data shows that over $368 million has been raised for statewide propositions according to all available electronic filings filed by November 2012 for the 2012 election cycle to committees formed to support or oppose California's November 2012 ballot propositions.
See below for a link to a spreadsheet that shows top contributor funding summaries in the aggregate and links to individual funding profiles for all California ballot propositions. If you cite data from MapLight Voter's Edge California, we would appreciate it if you would please credit MapLight: "according to a MapLight" or something similar. The MapLight Voter's Edge project for California's ballot measures was made possible in part by a grant from the James Irvine Foundation.
A MapLight spokesperson is available this weekend to speak in-depth about the funding behind California propositions; please email, pamela@maplight.org, or text, 415-299-0898.

News Directors, Producers, Managing Editors, and Reporters: Note some ballot measure campaign committees are supporting or opposing more than one proposition, so the total amounts raised by those committees are reflected on multiple propositions. For this reason, adding contributions across propositions will double-count certain contributions.
