Harnessing the momentum of water currents in lakes and rivers is the goal of Current Connection of Troy. The company is testing the feasibility of its underwater system by operating and generating hydrokinetic electric energy in the St. Clair River  just south of the Blue Water Bridge  for 8-12 weeks this summer. The turbines will be moored to the river floor, at least 25 feet below the surface. With its two-year-old Federal Energy Regulatory Commission approval in hand, the company is now responding to questions from DNR, a sportsfishing association, diving enthusiasts, and the City of Port Huron.
