Professional Biography

With a diverse background in higher education, legal management and associations, Steve provides a unique perspective on the behavioral dynamics of leadership and management.  Steve’s nearly 15 year tenure in higher education included roles as a Dean of students, Vice President of student services, and Director of business operations.   This, combined with his nearly 20 years of experience in law firm management and his role as President of the Association of Legal Administrators, has established his reputation as a strategic and visionary leader and manager that produces results.

A dynamic facilitator and speaker, Steve has spoken at international conferences on topics such as the process of leadership and organizational culture dynamics, strategic planning, process improvement and client service.  He is known as a results-oriented facilitator and mentor, who is sought after to advise and help others define a vision, develop executable tactics, and integrate accountability for results that enhance people, process and performance.  Steve uses an approach that emphasizes the importance of building a strong leadership foundation first and foremost, followed by team-based strategies, tactics, training and accountability to create change and enhance organizational effectiveness.

Steve balances his strong Iowa farm work ethic, with a wellness emphasis that includes physical fitness, sports, travel and family.  His geographic experiences reflect his fan support for the Creighton Blue Jays, Iowa Hawkeyes, San Antonio Spurs, Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers.  Steve incorporates his infectious sense of humor, energy, and personal and professional life experiences into his work, producing both a meaningful experience, and positive bottom-line results.
