Rachel assists clients with transactional structuring and diligence with respect to federal, state, and local tax in various industries, including manufacturers, airlines, telecommunications, corn and ethanol producers, health care providers, and individuals. As a Certified Public Accountant, Rachel uses both accounting and tax knowledge to create the best possible tax solutions.
Rachel works with clients on covered property tax, sales and use tax, transfer tax, and franchise and income tax. She has handled civil tax controversy matters and business transactions, including purchases, sales, mergers and restructurings. She works with partnerships, corporations, and individuals in tax audits, administrative appeals, and litigation.
Rachel represents renewable energy clients in transactions related to energy and renewable energy tax credits, including those involving section 45 production tax credits, section 48 investment tax credits, and other renewable energy incentives.
She also has experience with nonprofit tax work, specifically in the areas of nonprofit tax planning, federal exempt status applications, and instances where nonprofit work intersects with property tax exemptions.
