Peter Wilder is a shareholder with the Banking and Financial Institutions Practice Group. His clients include banks, mortgage companies, finance companies, financial services company vendors, and business executives. Peter provides a wide range of corporate and regulatory advice on topics including mergers and acquisitions, strategic revenue enhancement strategies, branch sales, capital raises, vendor contracts, and consumer finance laws. He has also provided legislative support to the Wisconsin community banking and mortgage banking industries.
Peter is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. There he spent over two years conducting in depth financial and operational analyses of a publicly traded bank holding company. Areas of study included credit risk management, funding, asset/liability management, loan portfolio management, retail banking, bank marketing, and bank leadership, among others. He readily shares his unique perspective with boards of directors, executive management teams, and industry publications such as SNL Financial and American Banker. He also manages and regularly publishes articles as part of the firm’s Bank Strategy Briefing series, through which he shares ideas for community bank executives as a service to the industry.
Peter got his start in banking as a law clerk for the General Counsel of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions.
