Helen C. Heintz

Helen advises individuals, couples, families, and fiduciaries in all aspects of trust, estate, and guardianship matters, helping families navigate the legal landscape to achieve their goals.

As a Partner in the Private Client Services Department at Wiggin and Dana, Helen counsels individuals, couples, and families in tax-efficient estate, gift, and income tax planning. She advises individual and corporate fiduciaries regarding all aspects of trust and estate administration, including taxation and fiduciary law. She also negotiates and structures prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Helen routinely represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries before the New York Surrogate's Courts and Connecticut Probate Courts in a variety of matters, including probate proceedings, fiduciary appointments and removal, guardianship proceedings, accounting proceedings, and contested matters. Helen also represents fiduciaries in Article 81 guardianship matters.

Helen is committed to pro bono service and participates in the Planning and Estates Law Project (PELP) of the City Bar Justice Center, which offers free legal assistance with end-of-life planning, probate, and estate matters to low-income individuals in New York City. Helen co-chairs the Women of Wiggin (WOW), a group for networking and mentoring within Wiggin and Dana.
