Join us as Trevor Lind examines how patent law and patent office practice are (or are not) evolving to address technological advancements resulting from the use of AI within the life sciences industry. Dr. Nicholas P. Lanzatella will moderate.

This insightful webinar will cover three main areas: impact of AI usage on inventorship; subject matter eligibility; and submission of in silico data for enablement purposes.

In particular, Trevor will discuss the current legal framework and USPTO guidance for determining inventorship when AI is used as part of an invention and AI usage scenarios that may impact patent validity due to inventorship issues.

Additionally, Trevor will take a look at practical drafting and prosecution practices that can help address subject matter eligibility rejections in the United States. Trevor will also talk about the potential for using in silico data to support the enablement of therapeutics, as well as a comparison of how in silico data usage is being addressed in Europe.
