Sharon Mahn is a lawyer, entrepreneur, advocate, published author, and founder of Mahn Consulting, LLC, a global legal search and consulting firm headquartered in Manhattan. Prior to founding Mahn Consulting, she practiced law as a trial lawyer at leading New York City law firms. She later served as a Managing Director at an international legal recruiting firm and as Global Head of the Law Firm Practice Group at a large international executive search firm, further shaping her perspective at the intersection of law, business, and talent strategy.
A recognized industry voice, Mahn has been named a Lawdragon Top 100 Consultant, a NJBIZ Top 50 Business Woman, a Top 25 Leading Woman Entrepreneur in the New York City area, a SmartCEO Brava Award recipient, and a T.J. Martell Woman of Influence. A longtime educator and thought leader, she has served as a guest lecturer for more than fifteen years at New York University’s SPS Graduate Business School. She is a frequent speaker on industry panels, appears regularly on podcasts, has been quoted in major periodicals, and has appeared on television discussing legal and business topics. She previously authored a column for the New York Law Journal.
Her commitment to leadership and service is reflected in extensive board and nonprofit work, including serving as a former member of the Board of Trustees of Muhlenberg College, her alma mater, a former board member of Advocates for Children in Manhattan, founder of the New York chapter of Operation Jersey Cares, and a current board member of the Federal Enforcement Homeland Security Foundation. She is also a member of the New York County Bar Association and has been recognized for her philanthropic contributions, including establishing a scholarship fund at Muhlenberg College honoring her parents.
Mahn graduated cum laude from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where she served as an Associate Editor of the Law Review. Based in Manhattan for more than two decades, she writes and speaks on the evolving relationship between law, business, and professional development. Outside of work, she is an avid runner who has completed all six World Marathon Majors, earning the Abbott World Marathon Majors Six Star Medal, and runs each marathon in support of charitable causes. She is also a world traveler who has visited more than 67 countries — and is always planning the next stamp in her passport.
