Michelle Behan is a nationally recognized DUI and criminal defense attorney whose career reflects years of focused, high-level advocacy. In 2021, she became only the fourth woman in the United States to achieve Board Certification in DUI Defense.
Michelle founded The Behan Law Group, P.L.L.C. in 2017 after building substantial experience in both public and private criminal defense practice. Previously, she served as an Assistant Public Defender and later continued her work in private practice, focusing on DUI defense. She is also active on the national stage as a speaker, faculty member, and leader in major criminal defense organizations, contributing to the development of DUI and criminal defense practice well beyond her own caseload.
Before entering the legal profession, Michelle served nearly ten years in the United States Navy as a cryptologist and later worked as an FBI Special Agent in South Dakota and Arizona. There, she investigated violent crimes, offenses against children, and national security matters, earning recognition for her work in child exploitation and international parental kidnapping cases.
