Matt Wilmot is a partner in HunterMaclean's Health Care and Corporate practice groups, where he advises health care organizations, providers, and investors on regulatory compliance, transactions, and government investigations. His practice covers a wide range of health care law, including HIPAA, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, EMTALA, fraud and abuse prevention, licensure, and physician contracting.
Matt regularly represents buyers and sellers in health care mergers and acquisitions, guiding clients through the industry-specific regulatory considerations that make these transactions uniquely complex. He has represented health care investment groups in the acquisition and sale of senior living facilities across the country, assisted with the acquisition of birth centers in multiple states, and served as outside general counsel to hospitals and medical practices.
Before joining HunterMaclean, Matt served as sole in-house counsel for a two-anchor hospital system with more than 700 patient beds and practiced at Am Law 100 and 200 firms focused on health care regulatory matters and government investigations.
Matt has been recognized as a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star and was named to Georgia Trend Magazine's Legal Elite in Healthcare Law. He is licensed to practice in Georgia and is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Health Care Compliance Association.
