Professor David R. Cleveland is a Clinical Professor of Law and the Director of Legal Research and Writing at the University of Minnesota Law School. He is an experienced litigator and a nationally recognized expert and well-cited scholar on federal court structure and reform issues.
Professor Cleveland is a leader in the legal writing community, currently serving as Immediate Past President of the Association of Legal Writing Directors and the recipient of the Legal Writing Institute's rarely-awarded Terri LeClerq Courage Award in 2020. He holds a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center.
