Professional Biography

Beau Hurtig is a Minneapolis financial services attorney with extensive experience in bank mergers and acquisitions and bank regulatory matters. Beau serves clients in the bank, financial institution, and Fintech sectors. His primary goal is to achieve his clients' business objectives through open communication, solid work ethic, and a practical approach.

Beau has over 20 years of experience handling mergers, acquisitions, corporate matters, and securities offerings in the heavily regulated bank and financial institutions sector. This experience includes 13 years of private practice before joining Ballard Spahr, during which time Beau facilitated dozens of bank mergers and acquisitions and advised on regulatory matters, and 7 years holding senior in-house positions, providing Beau with unique insight on client perspective, needs, operations, and implementing actionable solutions. Whether clients are seeking assistance with a complex transaction, examination findings, or something in between, Beau has likely navigated a similar matter while in private practice, as in-house counsel overseeing the sale of a $425 million Bell Bank subsidiary, or as in-house counsel establishing a de novo national trust bank and overseeing Fintech legal operations for Dayforce, Inc. Beau also enjoys the variety associated with serving clients ranging in size from smaller community banks—i.e., $50 million in assets—to larger publicly traded, global entities such as Dayforce.
