Professional Biography

Al Chakravarty helps to protect and defend organizations and individuals from issues that are enforced by federal and state agencies, including regulatory and compliance issues, whistleblower complaints, national security concerns, allegations of anti-competitive behavior, executive or employee malfeasance, insider threats and a variety of criminal allegations such as fraud and corruption.

Al has two decades of experience as a former state, federal and international prosecutor and trial lawyer, and is a nationally recognized investigations and white collar defense lawyer. He served more than a decade as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the District of Massachusetts, where he investigated and prosecuted high-profile cases such as the Boston Marathon bombing and those involving financial crimes and internet propagandists. Al was also an Assistant Attorney General and Assistant District Attorney in Massachusetts, an Assistant General Counsel for the FBI, an attorney-advisor at DOJ and a war crimes prosecutor at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. The Department of Justice recognized him with its two highest investigative awards: the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service and Award for Distinguished Service. He has also been recognized by the Directors of the FBI and ICE, among others.
