Allan Galis is a partner at HunterMaclean and head of the firm's litigation group. He focuses on business and commercial disputes, contract matters, construction, and real estate litigation, with appellate work across those areas. His clients span industries including health care, hospitality and retail, professional services, real estate, and technology.
Allan has handled some of the more complex disputes in Georgia's state and federal courts. He helped defend a national pharmaceutical distributor in an opioid lawsuit of first impression, where twenty-one plaintiffs sought more than $200 million in damages, securing a defense jury verdict after a five-week trial. He served as lead trial counsel and co-appellate counsel in the successful defense of a class action challenging the legality of Georgia's litigation funding industry. He has also defeated a $32 million breach of contract claim on summary judgment and won significant judgments for commercial landlords, insurers, and construction clients.
Allan earned his J.D. cum laude from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was notes editor of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Washington and Lee University.
Allan has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America in four litigation categories, named a recommended lawyer by The Legal 500 United States, and named a Georgia Super Lawyers Rising Star. He is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and licensed to practice in Georgia, where he is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association.
