Mike Greenwald and his partner Aaron Radbil are famous for hammering banks for large TCPA class action settlements in pre-recorded call wrong number cases.
In Arthur v. Oregon Community Credit Union, 2025 WL 2737170 (D. Or. Sept. 23, 2025) the delivered their latest win, collecting nearly $2MM from OCCU for allegations it made illegal robocalls to wrong numbers.
The class is defined as:
All persons throughout the United States (1) to whom Oregon Community Credit Union placed, or caused to be placed, a call, (2) directed to a number assigned to a cellular telephone service, but not assigned to an Oregon Community Credit Union member or accountholder, (3) in connection with which Oregon Community Credit Union used, or caused to be used, an artificial or prerecorded voice, (4) from October 8, 2020 through April 4, 2025.
Looks like there were 2,600 people in the class meaning OCCU agreed to pay $750.– per class member!
While there have been high TCPA settlements both on a per-person and aggregate basis, $750.00 a person is extremely high.
Just goes to show Greenwald can still drive top dollar for this TCPA settlements– and it shows how dangerous calling wrong numbers can be!
If aa small credit union finds itself in $2MM TCPA territory, everyone out there needs to be taking this statute seriously!
