Troy, Mich.-based IPA 100 firm Doeren Mayhew (FY24 net revenue of $170.37 million) has acquired Carson & McKinney CPAs PLLC of Nashville, Tenn., expanding its presence in the growing Middle Tennessee market. The firm and its employees began operating under the Doeren Mayhew name as of Sept. 22.
“Doeren Mayhew is excited about our continued growth in Nashville,” said Chad Anschuetz, CEO of Doeren Mayhew. “We’re committed to strategically positioning ourselves in this fast-growing market with additional resources and offerings to deepen our client relationships.”
Led by Chad McKinney, Carson & McKinney provides tax, assurance, consulting and outsourced accounting services to individuals and a range of businesses throughout Middle Tennessee. McKinney joins Doeren Mayhew as a principal on the regional leadership team.
“The industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by evolving tax regulations and accounting standards,” McKinney said. “Collaborating with a firm of Doeren Mayhew’s caliber gives our clients access to additional services and resources with a more holistic approach to high-quality client service.”
The acquisition marks Doeren Mayhew’s eighth deal of 2025 and aligns with the firm’s strategy to build stronger presences in key markets. The firm entered the Nashville market earlier this year through the acquisition of Thurman Campbell Group PLC.
“We are thrilled to welcome Carson & McKinney to our firm,” said Bob Yates, greater Nashville managing principal. “Our shared client philosophy and combined local bench strength better position us for future success in the market while enhancing our clients’ experiences with us.”
